Community Partner Program

Bancroft Musical Theatre (BMT) has been bringing professional quality youth theatre to the San Leandro Community and The San Francisco Bay Area for almost a quarter of a century! We are  celebrating 22 years of youth theatre this spring in bringing ANNIE to the stage for our 2011 season.   

BMT was founded by Catherine Heck and is designed to educate the whole actor and provide learning through performance.  In doing so, our goal is to produce high quality shows for our community and to provide exceptional theatrical training to our students.  

BMT is a FREE program. All students wanting to participate are welcome as performer or in the capacity of stage and technical work. No one is turned away. Over 2,200 student performers have gone through the program and have had the opportunity to explore skills unique to theatre, gain confidence, learn to work as a team, and develop an enduring appreciation and love of theatre.  

Nearly 65,000 audience members have enjoyed the shows produced by our children and guided by our creative staff.  Members of the creative team and production staff are working professional artists who volunteer their time to the Musical Theatre Program at Bancroft.
