"Peter Pan Soars"

Kelty Morash is a dynamo and quite the acrobatic aerialist soaring through the air with ease as boy hero, Peter Pan. Peter Olson is the villainous Captain Hook, the "creepiest creep in the world." Bancroft Musical Theater brings the adventures of "Peter Pan" to the stage this weekend and what a delightful treat this show is. The beauty of this "Peter Pan" is it's a show about kids acted by kids with all the explosive energy and exuberance kids have.
Martin Martinez is Hook's creepy cohort Smee and together these two, along with a motley cutthroat crew of murderous pirates, are up to no good in Never, Neverland. That is when Hook isn't frightened to death by a menacing slithering crocodile, played by Lydia Scharff.
Tyler Alsobrook is impressive as Wendy Darling, who along with Joseph Najibi and Nick Pugliese as her younger brothers John and Michael, fly away with Peter to Neverland. There they befriend Tiger Lily, done exceptionally by Mickala Andres, and her tribe of Indians and Peter's Lost Boys.
The large cast has actors ranging from 3rd grade upward to include one actor from high school. They all do a terrific job delivering their lines with proper English "Cockney" accents and dance merrily in their many featured dance routines.
As always, the Bancroft Musical Theatre delivers a show with punch. Be sure not to miss it.
"Peter Pan" plays this Friday, 16 May & Saturday, 17 May at 7:30 p.m. with a Sunday matinee, 18 May at 3:00 p.m. Bancroft Middle School is at 1150 Bancroft Avenue.
